This quote comes from the movie, "Slipper and the Rose" which was a musical made in 1976 with Richard Chamberlain as the prince and Gemma Craven as Cinderella. This "Cinderella" tells what the prince was going through. This line is said at the beginning of the movie when the King and Queen are playing a game and the King says it his turn. The Queen knows that it is really her turn, so she accuses him of cheating. He answers her with "Kings never cheat! They adapt to circumstances, but they never cheat!"
