He demanded that Johnny give the nuke to him, and continued to shoot bugs from his injured state while Johnny, Ace, and Carmen ran away. Eventually, Watkins died and his finger fell off the nuke, letting it detonate. Carmen, Johnny and Ace barely made it out alive.
