In a DS9 episode 'In the Pale Moonlight', Sisko works with Garak to create an 'authentic' Cardassian log recording Weyoun discussing the eventual take-over of the Romulan Empire once the Dominion has captured the Federation. They show this to a Romulan official, who takes it to be validated. When he finds that it was faked, he returns back to Romulus. But before he makes it home, his ship is destroyed. Garak planted a bomb on his ship, unknown to Sisko. But now that a Romulan has died by Cardassian technology, and with a credible Cardassian log found in the ship's wreckage, the Romulans agree to help the Federation fight the Dominion-Cardassian Alliance.

During the trial comprising most of the action of "Measure of a Man," Riker utilizes Data's "off" switch, and abuses (some would say) both his knowledge of Data's anatomy, and the use of the

nickname "Pinocchio" that Riker gave Data in the pilot episode, "Encounter At Farpoint."

After Picard denies Q admission to the crew, he decides to prove that they really are in need of his services... and unleashes a new terror on the Federation.

Trick question. In TOS ep 'The Enterprise Incident', Spock says he's given Kirk the VDG by gripping Kirk's face with one hand. This is actually a mind meld trick that just put Kirk in a death-like state. He later revived and then infiltrated the Romulan ship to steal the cloaking device.
