Tough "Trek" Trivia VI - The Vulcan Hand Salute is based upon a letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
The correct answer is 'True'
Leonard Nimoy has told this famous story a time or two, so here is my rendition of it...
When he was a kid growing up in Boston, his parents would take him to Temple on a regular basis. At one point during the ceremony, the rabbi would start a prayer, at which everyone was supposed to cover their eyes. Well, being as curious as any other kid, young Leonard would occasionally look up to see the rabbi holding both of his hands out, with fingers extended in a sort of V-shaped pattern. This pattern was a representation of the Hebrew letter "shin," which is the first letter in the Hebrew word for "God" (It is also the first letter in "peace"). When principal photography began on the episode "Journey to Babel", Leonard Nimoy remembered the rabbi's hand gesture and, since Vulcans were a peaceful race, he suggested it to Gene Roddenberry as a means for Vulcans to greet each other. The Great Bird loved it, and the Vulcan Hand Salute was born!

Tv Shows Hard Question 7
My Favourite British Comedies - Which actor/s play the same character/s (i.e. have the same name) through all four of the 'Blackadder' series?
The correct answer is 'Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson'
The four main series ('The Blackadder', 'Blackadder the Second', 'Blackadder the Third' and Blackadder Goes Forth') chart the various incarnations of Edmund Blackadder and his servant Baldrick through history from medieval England to World War I. There were a few one-off episodes, such as 'Back and Forth' and 'Blackadder's Christmas Carol', as well. It was only the addition of Ben Elton as co writer with Richard Curtis (now of British romantic comedy fame, e.g. 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and 'Notting Hill' etc) after the first series that established the show in the format that it is remembered for.
Rowan Atkinson (Blackadder) and Tony Robinson (Baldrick) are the only ones to play the same character through all four series. There could be a case for Rowan Atkinson playing a 'non-Blackadder' when he appears in the final episode of series 3 ('Duel and Duality') as Macadder, but he still plays Blackadder in the episode, as well. Stephen Fry is Melchett in series 2 and 4, but in 3 he appears as the Duke of Wellington. Hugh Laurie is George in series 3 and 4, but is Prince Ludwig in series 2.
